    The Thursday January 14th content update will be packed with goodies. In this week's Weekly Update (WU) Remiem informed us that, as of today, the original arcane dragon whelp pet Singe will be included in Locked Ren'gol Crates. Singe was first introduced two years ago, prior to the Dragon Enclave expansion.

    Apparently, STS will be adding other items to Locked Crate drop tables. Remiem dropped a teaser in her WU, "There are some other special goodies coming your way that will definitely make you think about opening those crates you've been hanging on to." Some players have speculated that the anomalous Arcane Deary may be one of the items added.

    Perhaps alluding to the coming expansion, today's content update will also include significant nerfs for aging zones "in preparation for future content." The most notable nerf is that of the infamous Nordr Alpha Wolf. Ice traps from the Nordr boss areas have been removed, Nordr boss damage has been reduced and the damage from one of the most lethal boss skills STS has ever developed, the Alpha Wolf's reflective shield, has been reduced.

    Minor bug fixes and are also included in today's update, and STS is also expected to switch Brood Locked Crate recipies to a craftable state.

    Responding to long-standing player requests and hoping to rekindle interest, STS will soon be dusting off aging elite maps and granting new achievements and titles.

    Arcane Legends players with a keen fashion sense now have an opportunity to use their talents to win some platinum. Today, STS Moderator Seoratrek announced the Arcane Legends Color Matching Contest, which charges players with creating an impressive, color-coordinated screenshot of their character in an ideal setting. According to the rules, player outfits must be as close to one color as possible, using any combination of items and vanities available in the game.

    Five winners will be chosen, one for each of five categories:

    STS Developer Carapace, replying to an inquiry about whether a Glintstone Aegis shield proc fix was on the horizon stated the following:

    Thanks for bringing that back to my attention.
    At issue is that a normal attack is required to trigger the Aegis shield proc, hobbling the effectiveness of the proc and the mythic weapon overall. Skill attacks add to the proc cycle, but cannot initiate the proc. Aegis owners are hoping developers will make skill attacks also initiate the proc cycle as they did when the weapon was originally released.

    The formidable obstacles woven into the current jewel crafting system remain one of the game's hottest discussion topics. The jewel system replaced the older Gem crafting system with the release of the Rage of Ren'gol expansion. After the expansion release, players quickly discovered that jewel drop rates were relatively low and crafting them was also expensive. For an individual player, farming a single noble jewel from start to finish required 123,570 gold and 2,187 cracked jewels. Any player attempting to obtain the noble version of one of the more sought-after jewel types had to face months of exhaustive farming, killing waves upon waves of high level mobs. To date, there are no known reports of a single player farming and crafting a popular-type noble jewel from start to finish.

    These factors together placed intense pressure on the prices of popular Noble, Superb and Excellent jewels. As the situation became clearer after the expansion, players of all wealth levels began to experience prolonged sticker shock because jewel prices consistently remained high enough to bust the budgets of even the wealthiest Arlorians. Prices for many in-demand level 20+ jewels have remained in the 'several millions of gold' range for the past seven months.

    On November 5th last year, STS moved to address player complaints with a trial-run of Jewel Elixirs. By spending 8 platinum, players received a much higher than normal drop rate for 15 minutes. Player reviews on the elixir experiment were mixed. Perhaps due either to undesirable game metrics, player feedback or both, STS decided not to continue with Jewel Elixirs.

    Today, STS announced their second attempt to address the continuing Jewel Conundrum: Jewel Chests:

    STS has followed through on its commitment to make changes to the Glintstone Aegis. The mythic warrior sword & shield weapon has been returned to its original release condition, minus the weapon-switch glitch. The proc now triggers upon damage dealt:

    According to reports on the forums and on social media, Spacetime Studios has issued a large number of player bans for a variety of rules violations. Today, STS CEO Justg confirmed the recent upswing in bans, "We're cracking down [on rules violations] with zero tolerance."

    Reports indicate the most common bans have been for inappropriate chat related to PvP and for purchasing gold from a third party. The length of the bans have varied from 24 hours through seven days, with some players receiving the stiffest penalty, a permanent "forever" ban. Justg warned players not to engage in transactions outside the game, "Don't buy anything for real world money, don't sell anything for real world money."

    Players who have been banned may seek information from support.

    Thanks for keeping up with ALLN! Here's a brief synopsis to bridge the two-week gap since the last ALLN post.

    *
    Arcane Deary portal sometimes brings players to an already-cleared island with no treasure. The issue is caused by the instance of the Deary Island persisting after players leave, as per normal zone behavior.

    * In January, Spacetime Studios hired a new moderator: Kaylin. Welcome Kaylin!

    * Spacetime Studios has partnered with experienced live-stream broadcaster Paradigm. Paradigm live-streams Arcane Legends every weekday 10am - 12pm CST. Check out Paradigm's stream on Mobcrush.

    * Top 50 guild ranking stats for February 3, 2016.

    * Juggernaut changes are confirmed ready and awaiting the release of client version 1.5.

    * STS implemented stringent measures to combat the cash-for-gold spambots. Anyone typing any version of the advertised website in any in-game chat is permanently banned moments later. Discussing even accidental bans is not permitted on the forums.

    * Arcane Weapons for each class were released with the February 4 content update.

    * Many Rogue players were almost immediately concerned about the stats on the arcane Dragon Hunter Daggers. STS opened an investigation the next day. Changes to the Daggers were announced the following Wednesday and implemented during the February 11 content update.

    * The arcane Dragon Hunter Sword had two bugs that have now been fixed. The sword was removing the Arcane Ring aura effect and improperly ignoring stun immunity.

    * Lovecrafting Valentine's Day event started February 11.

    dont make it craftable anymore....alot deleted it, alot of players craft the brood crate on time....only few hoarded recipes...its thr fault if they took the risk...they are not sure if its craft-able or not after event, they know the consequence about that risk and still they hoarded those recipes .... leave it as it is....dont make it craftable anymore....cuz even if u make it craft-table...alot will still complain....if u want, allow us to sell those remaining recipes for 3-7k each....so that its fair for everyone... just my opinion tho...

    Brood Crate Update

    When the Brood of Syrillax winter event ended many players, unfortunately, deleted their Brood Locked Crate recipes because they were not craftable. Following STS' announcement that Brood Locked Crates would be made craftable next Thursday 1/14, players who deleted their recipes took to the forums to voice their concern:

    It has been sixty-seven days and Rogue player DarrenPR is patiently waiting for an answer to an important, but complex, question regarding rogue mechanics that only an STS developer can answer. The question at hand is about the Rogue skill Entangling Trap (ET) and its second upgrade, Razor Wire. When the ET skill is activated, Razor Wire adds bleed Damage over Time (DoT) to enemies. When coupled with the first ET upgrade, Adept Construction, which eliminates the skill cooldown 20% of the time, a situation is created where multiple traps can be active simultaneously. Additionally, when other traps from other Rogues are added and with the Rogue Glintstone armor set special ability of releasing additional stunning Entangling Traps, the question of how exactly the traps are supposed to behave becomes even more important.

    Decisions on how to spec a character and decisions on which strategies to employ are made based game mechanics. Rogue players spend platinum/scrolls on spec-ing and in-game time using the Entangling Trap skill based on their understanding of how the game functions. Several Rogue players have spent time testing the ET bleed effect and have discovered:

    • Trap bleeds currently do not stack (trap bleeds did stack immediately following the Ren'gol expansion)
    • Bleed effects from other sources, such as pets, do stack with traps.
    • When traps from multiple rogues are used simlutaneously only one player will see damage from the bleed effect
    • Glintstone armor-related traps will consecutively stun for 4 seconds only if no bleed effect from a prior trap is present. If a prior ET with DoT bleed effect is present, glint-traps will not stun.

    Rogue players have expressed frustration that they have yet to receive an answer, but many are still hoping developers will take the time to answer.

    CM Remiem has clarified that the legendary weapons do indeed exist, but they were not released during the Brood of Syrillax winter event. Remiem stated the confusion on the matter was due to an internal miscommunication at STS.
