Nope I'm pretty sure the only way is by crafting 3 normal ren locks and so on

I looted a massive from the boss of one of the elite rengol maps. Just one though. Very low odds. I also looted several larges from elite tindrin when I used to farm for bars.

Yes Large locked crates can be looted from Elite Shuyal maps and onwards and massives can be looted in Elite Rengol.
