You have to root your phone first, if you don't know how just search it up on google. I use shootme, it works great

hey bro, are you using an android phone?
theres a way to take screenshots w/o rooting. its called No Root Screenshot it. It does require a little fiddling around. but it works,
theres instructions in the app.

Its a one button rooting tool you can't really go wrong. If that doesn't work on your phone go to xda developers.com select your device and there's lots of info about rooting and more.

On a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate running Android 2.2 Froyo, you don't need to root or download any program.
Hold the 'back' button and press the 'power' button and you should hear a camera shutter, and you will see a new folder called ScreenCapture automatically opened up in your Gallery.
