If you tried to sell cereal but people didn't buy it till you added a plastic prize to it, and then rushed to buy every box on the shelves, wouldn't you then try to sell the little plastic toy alone (in a different color) for the same price? Since that's what was selling, after all.

Time Zones maybe? Mine has ~22 hours left for the shield. Maybe everyone gets a new deal, at say, 5 PM their time.
