Thoth sword or spear, whats better?

sword has better dps but spear apparently has break armor proc (if i have lvl 5 nightmere do i really need armor break proc?)

i have sword atm but donno if i should get spear instead.

i just bothered to buy the pvp packs and wondering whats better for pvp as i want to get into it (never enjoyed it before due to pallys having low m/s)

Thoth Spear?

I'm deciding if I want to use the D'Jinn spear of legend or Sword of Thoth (just got it) when I get to 39. I think I'm going to go with the spear since I have the Thoth helm and can get by with only 5 M/S. If I were a Paladin though, I'd try and use two Thoth and Two zombie. Zombie, because it gives me a full 5 H/S whereas my other Oasis pinks just give me 2 H/S (but I might have weak items)

ive been using sword an played pvp today, it was really fun, me and mysticaldream were both pallys with slightly different builds and we had an epic battle for like 5 minutes until some stupid magebird joined and killed me (that doesnt count as a win dream!) =D


and yer theres a thoth spear, but personaly i think sword looks cooler, seing as i did a drawing of a sword the same shape as it for the drawing competition :P

and i dont rly need health regen if i always have mana to heal (thanks thoth set!)

It is nice, but seeing as I just got the spear, I'm going to go with that and sell my D'Jinn. Why pick between damage and m/s when you can have both?

Spear has higher damage, so skills do more damage. Free swings doing more damage means higher burst dps. Break armor also boosts everyones damage.
Sword for pve, spear for pvp or pve.

i thought skill damage was seperate from weapon damage, seing as it says in skill descriptions the min and max damage a skill can do

As far as looks are concerned I think spear looks better but seeing it in action looks kinda retarded poking at a slow rate. Using the sword it slashes front and back hand and also pokes with is more visually stimulating for me so I go with sword. Personally I think damage is prob same given one is higher damage nut slower and one with less damage but faster.

I hv both but sword seems more fun to me and I also look for overall fun of game play as well. Imagin if u have 250 damage but move once every second, that wouldn't be much fun even with higher damage right?

I'm not aware of anything that would suggest that weapon damage and skill damage are dependent on one another. I'm pretty sure they're separate.

I believe they are talking about the avian skill.

I've tried this out with Esus who was on his Paladin named Kangol with almos the exact same build as me and with the exact same armor. We first tried out the sword against spear me using sword, doing some basic damage. He ended up winning almost every time while I was using sword. When I changed to spear, it turned differently, and we were pretty evenly matched except for the skill combos that we use. So all in all, the spear is better. The proc that it has (we found this out yesterday) can actually stack multiple times. At one point, only with nightmare and Esus's spear, he got my armor down from 99 to 24, which is a pretty big difference using only 1 spell and your weapon.

when u attack with spear little stars sparkle around enemys feet to show you've broken armor
