There is no season 9. According to the LB it's still season 8, even after being reported months ago.

Oez is trolling you... each season ends when a new expansion is released. We are now on season 9. I'd estimate that (broadly) the next expansion will happen in 3-6 months, but there is no specific date as of yet.

That's pretty short, I think next year or so.
