I've not played since the expansion came in. Now I've started again and I just capped. But I'm so lost with so many new weapons and equipments, I don't know where to start.
I'm a mage btw, and I need your help with equipping myself properly. I've the hexstone staff too.

You off to a good start, I just recently picked up the Cryostar Assault Armor, using the Venom Set.
Nekro is still the to go pet. Grab a bunch of ankhs and pots and you're gtg.

I dont have it. But im still deciding if i should go for Arcane staff or Mythic staff. I just need more opinions

I would say depends how much gold you have at your disposal. The venom set for mage is about 2m. Lvl 56 cryo assault armor is 500-700k. Best thing to do is go to cs check you're stats with some of the lvl 56 pinks out there.

I've 3m gold but I'm not spending it on a whim until I feel informed enough. What do you suggest I do?

Decide if you want to farm your own fossil or buy one.

Hex staff is perfectly good(who doesn't like stun-locking your target?)

I suggest waiting as long as possible unless you find a random good deal in cs.

Because I think a side benifit of 2x teeth will be boosting,in general, people's levels and opening the door to more end game farmers.

Good 56 pinks will become quite cheaper in a week or two I assume.

Depends on what pets you have. I'd say first priority is to cap. Then since gold is at a premium right now, farm teeth, and locks for Ursoth event that is coming. You can buy cheap pinks along the way to cap. Pick up a Hex staff (they are cheap)

Once event is here farm it then see where you are on gold and event Pet before you use it all on Nekro.

Sorry, apparently I can't read.
Just pop Toor on Arcane Deary's AA and you'll be fine on pet as long as Deary is capped. Toor's AA is good in new maps because of mob density.

I'd still suggest holding on to as much gold as you can at least til the event. So buy the cheapest gear that makes sense and farm teeth, locks and the new maps until it hits. Then you'll have a better idea of what to buy as events always bring something new.
