It depends. Flame Forged Staff is a beast at dealing with massive crowds of enemies because its DoT can stack and build up,causing some very intense (and possibly very laggy) results.. Dragon Hunter Staff can deal with the beefier enemies easily because its DoT deals a % of the affected enemy's max hp value per tick. So pick your poison wisely.

I personally use hexstone staff, he gives me good dmg, and has nice proc, if you want more health for mage use arcane staff
