You should check class section about mages. If you won't find anything there that you need feel free to create thread and ask anything

    basically mage is pve
    its awesome for stunning

until u get to lvl 56 or want to do elite go for this build
fireball shield gust heal/lightning (depending on ur play style healer or damage provider), use this till u get to lvl 26
fireball shield gust clock (upgrade skills)&(once u unlock masteries respec and go for clock mastery), use this till u get to lvl 46
fireball shield gust (ur choice) and go for passives respecing again (int dex str dmg% crit) do not take armor and speed (not for mages), use this till u reach lvl 56
once done use all 10 points u get from lvl 46 to lvl 56 and place it into clock mastry full (gale too if u want).and ur done

fireball gust stunn is important , time them and stacking stun time dont work, alternate em and use shield and heal/lightning for boss (ur choice)
use pots when endgame and dont use heal, use clock.

    imo basically

Shield really isn't needed for anything rn imo so skip that.

Fireball is the basic mage skill, most everyone uses it (5/5 or skip last upgrade)

Clock is also pretty standard for mob killing (5/5 or skip the explode one)

Lightning is a strong damage skill I would recommend it (4/5 no stun)

Then depending on what type of map you're running ice / gale (ice 4/5 no leaving puddle, gale use speed upgrade at least)

For easy maps like km3 I would use fire, gale, lightning, clock. For elite maps I would use fire, ice, lightning, clock (swap clock out for gale at boss).

Passives int, dex, str, crit, and damage / armor optional. Masteries clock 10/10 for elites and 9/10 in fireball for easy maps.

P.S. Mold your build around the types of maps you're gonna run. For example since I run km3 almost exclusively right now I don't use any points in clock mastery, armor passive, or ice.

Hope you can decipher my disorganized response.

Since the 2 above me stated everything, I'd like to add a tip, try to profit from clock's root, cheers.

P.s, I think shield is pretty Important on some maps such as planar tombs, Elite underhul etc, as it reduces one hits, so if you're gonna run elites shield is important.
In the internet, you can be Whoever you want, I wonder why some people choose to become idiots...
