    Question Is egg slotting suppose to work like this?

    Extrapaya asked this way back in the announcements;


    "a question though, what will happen if a nekro is given kelvin's aa?
    nekro is a ranged?"

    There was no answer in the thread and I have tried this last night, It didn't work.
    The auto attack on the main toon was ranged and slotted a mele- it was never in range.
    Besides that the pet lags behind you even when un sped up it seemed the pet tried to stay back for the range. The only way I got it to work was to gather a mob, run backwards and hope it didn't back off.

    Anyhow, I'd like word if it's suppose to be like this and we should simply know better than to try to put a mele attack in a pet with ranged auto attack.

    Have others had the same experience?

    I just take it that some combos are sub-optimal. When I see that, I change it. Some combos work very well; others I tweak till I am happy. Kelvin aa works quite well w bunch if good pets. There are actually lots of these, mostly involving ranged pets and melee-type aa's.

    I guess if nothing changes and no dev responds I'll take it as a lesson learned, but I would be good for the npc who teaches you how to do this would mention this problem.

    i have answered this multiple times,

    thats the most important thing to consider in animalcy,
    regarding aa

    nekro is a ranged pet (stands behind and deals dmg) kelvins aa requires the pet to be right next to the boss as the stun radius of it is small
    (smaller than nekros distance from boss)
    therefore when u press the aa of kelvin slotted into nekro
    aa actives but isnt close enough to the boss to deal its effect
    basically its useless in ALL ranged pets.

    here is a usefull example taking advantage of this, ranged melee pets

    korruption is a ranged attacker and its aa makes a circle, but as its ranged, if ur a dag sword user, that ring isnt close enough sometimes to engulf all mobs
    now slot it into a melle pet, when u press its aa, the circle has its centre at the pet, and pet is right next to mobs, does full effect of korruptions circle and engulfs all mobs almost always, super helpful




    imo,
    melee pets are the best rn, for passives
    ranged and a few melee pets have great aa
    and look for good happiness bonuses,


    rn i think all good melee pets should have slots opened,
    sam grimm mari is great for this
    swift gloom slink is good too.

    and customise ur aa

    Say Cinco didn't realize it works like this- then I'd write it in zues' list of game bugs

    Yes this same question. Kelvins aa has been asked in several threads that it doesnt work in certain pets
    These certain pets were ranged pets

    Idk which thread the dev did actually confirm it.

    And yes several ppl did ask did and i have answered it many times to them. As well as others answered too.

    Not a bug at all as it is working as its intented

    That would be exactly what I was looking for because it isn't answered in the announcement.

    So maybe the npc should mention to match range and mele attacks so new ppl don't spend tokens and money the way I did to see it doesn't work.
