Tyrannica AA affects us players too! Huh?

I opened Gold Tyrannica during this event, was planning on slotting him with other pets but for the time being he still has his happiness and aa. However sometimes when I use him in kt4 the clouds appear on the players' heads too (is he going through his rebellious faze? He's lvl 25-30)

It doesn't always happen, actually, it's kinda uncommon. When I press his aa with no mobs nearby nothing happens. I've no idea what triggers it. Affected players have the pink shield effect/icon near their name. Here's a pic:

I've been affected by the Grey cloud and was slowed down. It's not just visual, it's actually applying the aa on us ;-;
