Most efficient way to awaken

Hey!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me which is the best way to improve the awakening stats of my weapons? should i start with awakening gems (blue ones) or elite awakening gems (red ones)?

I already have all 4 slots unlocked at my arcane weapon

Im not sure you can start out with the elite gem first but I wouldent in either case. You will want the elite ones to either reroll new stats or to reroll and posibly open a new slot.
blue starts the process, red tries to improve.
