ya they did.

Made a new toon yesterday on the hype of the new event. If the name was taken, it goes back to a randomly generated name (and randomly generated look).

Try to create a new character. You'll see the process is different.

That's slow and makes it pointless. The entire reason it was macro was because there was no window of opportunity for the real name owner to swap the name to his main character. Now there is.

It's not completely fixed, names can still be sniped. It's just much better than before.

Yeah it's always been a problem sadly I remember changing one of my names a long time ago and it was sniped from me then a few days later I see some endgame tank with it.
