Shards are so cheap these days, only a little more than 1m, and they can be looted in so many different types of chests and crates. This is not like the level 41 cap when shards were 100m.

An average player will not waste shards to craft an untradeable vanity. As for me I never liked the Mythic armor, helm on the other hand looks bad a** and I might consider crafting it. Mythic helm + Berserker vanity armor has been my favorite outfit during 41 cap

Cheap is a relative term, for some, 1m is like tossing a quarter in a fountain, for others, 1m is something they can only dream of.
For me, getting to 1m took months of selling vanities and farming with as great as luck as farming junk that was worthless.
Either way, most of the events nowadays make me want to flip tables
