Why do 99% of the mages use heal in Graveyard/Mausoleum?

My main is not a mage but I have one and I wouldn't use heal in any pve map,i can't figure out why mages use it on those maps that's why I am asking .

So please can someone give at least ONE SOLID reason for the use of heal there?

I Think The Majority Of It Is out Of Respect For The Party. . Along The Lines Of helping To Keep The Party Alive And Full Of Juice. . Theres Been A Long Time Debate Over 'to Heal Or Not To Heal'. . . .

Because there are lots of rogues and warriors who ask for mana and if you don't provide them , they call you noob and leave map sometimes.

I guess nobody wants to get called noob.

The people who ask for mana are the "noobs" on this case , it's pve there's pots to use. So don't use it as a reason because with 3 or 4 attack skills mages are a lot more helpful.

Well in my case, often there is no warrior in the pt. Spamming pots doesn't always save you from being 1shot killed by those aimed shots. So heal does help the pt survive even for just a moment, it makes a slight difference. Sure its not practical and you can do more damage with more attack skills. But honestly i don't trust many warriors especially pugs. Alot of them run ahead, make big pulls, die themselves and then dont even use an ankh, leaving the pt defenceless. So ill keep my heal for peace of mind more than anything. hehe

I know VERY few mages that run with 4 dmg skills....
If it's not heal, its shield....
But like the red and yellow m&ms... They do exist!

I meant that it gives you an opportunity to survive while potting. Sortve like how warriors heal saves you from death, even though you are potting your thumbs off

I personally put all mages who use heal in endgame in PvE on ignore immediately.
@Sak : the sad reality is that most of those mages only have one attacking skill. They use shield, heal lightning and all their remaining points on passives and masteries.

Well pugs are what they have always been. Recently I ran mau 2 with a rogue with lepre on and 567 damage, who only use auto attack. Same rogue had the lightbearer rank coffin vanity. So imagine the amount of frustration she/he had caused lol.

Mostly new mages or undergeared mages tend to do that from what I have seen. 99℅ is a high tho, more like 60-70%

Even tho I don't recommend heal in PvE, I'd rather run with a mage that uses heal instead of one using curse. Curse mages in pve are quite frankly useless.

Some people just do not get the fact that using heal instead of another skill just lopsides most maps.......... I don't even have the heal skill on my mage.... Heck, I have shield and do not even use that... 4 attacks for me only, no matter the map.... But, some still use heal............. Anyone who calls a mage a noob for not using heal is actually a noob themselves........

Because are USELESS nubs!
Heal deal aggro for us and doesnt work like a tank heal , mages need dmg and dps because we are mobs controll, not a mana saviors

Or simple, there are not people who can teach how be a mage pve!

Prob is always the same and happens every new cap.
The sad truth is quite simple: many peeps don't know how classes and skills works for real and, i'd like to add, they don't wanna learn but only judge you if you try to explain some facts.
Heck, i mostly run pugs lately (my friends timezone sux ) and i use to run 4 attacks skill in gy and, honestly, to be called noob by a lousy rogue begging for mana, well.... idc at all.
Btw you've been very very unlucky too, 'cause aside those wonderful mages going in with shield, heal, curse and charging gale (they are real, believe me), i've found also many good players running pugs.

All points on STR
Skill : shield heal curse light

All points on STR because strong mage strong shield. Heal because you strong STR mage and aggro mage need as mage use curse and reflect damage I strong. I light coz I wanna do 250% damage.

Maybe you guys can share your best built for graveyard too specially rogue and warrior. I wanna know what pro rogue warrior use.
