I love this feature of DL. In fact, it's one of my favorite things about the game for as small of a detail it is. It works in DL because there's less AoE, less brightly colored maps, and simply less all-around happening on your screen to allow visibility for the drops. DL also has more of an emphasis on solo play, and isn't structured like PL is with the focus on team dynamic.+ All looted items and gold now drop in the world and can be picked-up (or ignored).
After farming briefly on a few maps, it really just seems like a hassle. All the AoE skills and various colored maps often make drops difficult to see, especially since the aura above the item is always gold and matches elixirs. It also inhibits some team dynamics, since the team can't split up for efficiency or a bear can't advance to get a head start tanking without losing a drop. It confines everyone to a small circle if they want loot. Not to mention, farming somewhere like Psycho Shade seems much less enjoyable with this feature. I'd be in favor of reverting this back already quite honestly, but if not, at the very least I'd encourage that all pinks and elites will get auto-looted to ensure they don't go unnoticed, or to prevent a player from disconnecting and missing out. Also, I think gold should be removed from this, since really, who doesn't want free gold? It drops too frequently for me to have to look for it then walk over it to receive. It's a minuscule amount, but it helps new players out a ton.
Not to sound unappreciative that is. The level 1 items have some pretty solid aesthetics, and I appreciate no longer confusing level 50s for 80s and vice-versa.
