As for the level 10 set having better gold bonus than the level 50, I see it as part of an interesting concept.
The idea of the gold loot sets is to incite the greedy nature in all of us players. How greedy are you to exchange stats for more gold? Greedy enough to use level 10 items? Regardless of the answer, that's where the beauty of the concept lies.
The names/nouns also increase in intensity as the gold loot increases, Desire < Greed < Avarice, to reflect the player's greed.
So, I'd leave those sets untouched.
