this isnt necessary at all, ppl will still get scammed. Theres no need to dedicate the devs time to this as it wouldnt benefit the majority of players, and a great deal of other things the devs could do would.
theyre working on a new game and that always makes that the older games have less attention at times.
6-7 years in sts games and ive never been scammed, do have friends, and dont lend what i wouldnt be willing to loose.
Don't give anything to anyone unless you can afford to lose it.
Do everything you have said you will do.
Do not encroach on the rights or property of others.
Treat everyone as you wish to be treated.
I have some of friends in the game, and they never ask to borrow my items, neither do I. It is weird if lending things is the way you are making friends.
I dont usually lend stuffs. Thres just this 1 time from a recent friend who borrowed stuffs from me. What he did was planned (thats what other friends said). And i got a feeling that hes a pro scammer. Hiding from other accounts/chars afterwrds.Originally Posted by Horme

1) dont trust anyone you don't know in real life.
thats all your never gonna get scammed that way. And about lending wont that lead to very few people buying thing when they can just borrow it?cuz if they borrow it its a fool proof way of getting items to use.
We had this idea suggested last year as well but obviously it was not implemented. I personally think it's too much of a hassle but I do like the idea of it. I was once scammed by one of my close online friend; I gave him Arcane dragon blades and he blocked me and kicked me out of the guild right away. But I knew the risk, and I took a chance on that friend. I don't see this being happening any time soon but maybe sts will surprise us one day.
Right now I only trust my guild master because she is rich af and we have a good relation and my brothers in real life.
P.S. don't share something if you are not willing to lose it.
All those here who comment "dont lend items " i call it bluff , im sure everyone gave SOMETHING at one point , even a Lix, ank ... something.....
It's a worldwide game people have friends, family who play and share/ lent items, dont't be so harsh and judge someone who actualy came up with an ideea to change things, and prevent scamms from happening. It's already dissapointing to see this happen, let's not make it even harder for him.

Um, i dont lend elixirs; i give them. I dont lend gold; i give them. Due to the other people's personalities, sometimes i get the stuff back, which btw is also something to notice in your friends. If you always take, I am not your friend.
I do lend out some equips, not usually though and not to beggars. people who want too much are bad investments. I dont lend stuff i am using. Mostly its stuff just sitting in my inventories, that i like and might be useful but which i am not using. If I did not get the items back, it would be an annoyance, but otherwise, hardly noticeable. However, I am an unforgiving personality in RL. As I tell the immediate people around me: I am nice. But not THAT nice.
But i think over 4 years, i can count on my fingers the times I expected an item to be returned. And over 4 years, all non-gifts have been returned. I did do a couple times where I accepted collateral, but meh, i have other preferences.

Perhaps instead of lending an item STS could create a system where only the stats/procs/awakenings etc of your item are lent to another player which would temporarily replace the stats/procs/awakenings on their equipped item for a small fee- for example, you are borrowing my weapon which means your weapon will take on the stats etc of my weapon and override your weapon stats (for an hour or so). I know people would ideally like to have the actual item (for the bling bling) but doing it like I've suggested will remove any chance of being scammed. People can delete or rename their character with no loss to the lender or the alternative would be to disable renaming, deleting your account etc whilst an item on loan is in your possesion
If they disbale trade system and the only way peoples buy/sell stuffs is in auction, the chance of scam will be reduced very significant.

if they disable trade system the no matter how over priced plat users sell for we f2p players have no choice but to buy em.and if sts makes everything farmable then plat users.........
There are lots of games w no trading. They lack the great attraction of STS' Legends games social system. I really enjoy randomly spa...um...gifting people. I wish I could also gift gold. And during events, its great fun to be an impromptu store buying all sorts of event items. I think there is not a problem with most trades. Is it 100% perfect? Name one system implemented by humans that is 100% perfect. Just one.

hoarder might control the auction house if they do this because there is no other way to buy items. as for the mercher it's gonna be hard to merch items, btw the buy/sell forum will be shutdown because if ur looking for items u just have to search it.
