What's the big deal about level cap?

Maybe it's because i'm lvl 30, but what's the deal with waiting for everyone to hit lvl 61 before raising the cap? Can't they hit 61 later? Why before? What's up with all the "wasted money to get halfway to 61"

you get a vanity if you do the grind to 61

It's because there is a vanity shield as a reward for grinding to 61. There was also a vanity helm at lvl 56 before the level cap was raised. If you have both of these, they make a set and give you a set bonus (5% dodge, 10% armor, and 50 health) and blue sparks.

Current xp from 60-61 is 100450xp. The xp is huge due to it is elite lvl. When new lvl cap is release, 60-61 will be like 10k xp only. For those whobis halfway, say 50k xp to 61, when cap raise, their xp will be lower to 5k only. (divided by 10) hope this explain yr doubt.
