Mages don't two shot birds but they do lack the damage to kill a mage fighting seriously , I'd say I can kill a bird in about 11 seconds, mid difficulty. Mages can two shot birds if they are in a lower level pvp game, then it just takes a drain and fire, but in a level 100 game it takes awhile longer but its still pretty easy.
I can kill a bird without using ms but I'd almost be dead, birds do need a buff to compete against mages wand mages in pvp
