Ambassadors of Alterra - First Draft Of Constitution

Hear ye! Hear ye! I present to you the first Constitution of the Ambassadors of Alterra. After careful consideration of everyone's feedback, I've written this first draft as a plan for moving forward. You are welcome to give feedback on the constitution.

AMBASSADORS OF ALTERRA

Mission:

Ambassadors of Alterra is a volunteer program for the helpful residents of Alterra to help guide and assimilate new players of Pocket Legends. Our mission is to welcome as many new players as possible to the game, be their first friend and help them get started on their journey.

Who:

Ambassadors of Alterra are experienced players who simply enjoy helping out new users and bringing them in to the community.

The first group will be chosen by STS - future AoA members will be chosen by both STS and existing AoA members. While we only want the friendliest, most helpful members in this group, it will not be as exclusive as Guardians.

How:

Ambassadors will use an extra character slot for their AoA alt.
AoA accounts will be given costumes, etc to distinguish themselves from regular players
AoA accounts will level cap at 10, so they can't be used to power level new players (we don't want to kill the experience)
When roleplaying as an AoA, players will hang out in Forest Haven to greet and help new players
AoA accounts are free to do as they wish, jumping in a game with new players or escorting them along a quest/dungeon
Ambassadors will have a private group and sub-forum on the forum to coordinate out of the game (and maybe get exclusive updates :O)

Guidelines:

The priority of Ambassadors of Alterra is new users. When logged in on an Ambassador account, AoA members must always have their focus on new players - even if they have to abandon a conversation with a friend to help one.

AoA members will be held to the strictest standards on both their AoA and regular accounts. Ambassadors are role models to the community and must represent the best of the best.

What's Next?

In the next few days we will reach out to the first group of people we've chose to become Ambassadors. Once the first group is in we will collectively decide what will be on the applications. Applications will be open to all within 2-4 weeks.

Not sure how easy that is to do right now. At the very first, at least, it will be costumes. Obviously will be pushing for colored names

My concern with colored names is the appearance of being a STS employee. Right now, the definitive way to know if someone is a STS employee is the color of their name.

Just throwing that out there.

Yes, was just about to mention that. I don't think any player position should get that honor, as a vanity item that distinguishes you is more than enough. I really like the fact that you are locking the vanity to a Level 10 character though. Why? Sometimes, from experience, wearing a exclusive vanity shield all the time is not the smartest thing in the world when walking into a midst of players. Sure, helping is awesome, but being bombarded with way too many questions that you can't answer singlehandedly isn't.

Coming to my point--

For characters like these? There should be a few stationed in each town and only a certain limit of questions should be allowed to be asked at once. (like a quota). This way it will be organized and players won't be overwhelmed. When they are done assisting, they can hit some sort of "check" button to allow more questions to be answered. A permanent chat bubble over there heads would be a great way to advertise help as well. The vanities could also be used for this.

Royal Staff of Information, Level 10, Purple in color, of course, like the other Royal Staffs, just a slight tweak to make it into a full "?" shape, animation added when answering a question...

Hmmm...how about taking not-power-levelling up a step...
Give the AoA's a "Helm of Invincibility" which makes give them like 999 armor, but disables all their skills and weapons.
That way they could tag along on runs and offer advice and information, but not participate in the fray...
Just a thought...

This is a wonderful idea and am glad to see it finally being implemented. I do have one question: I understand there is an application process. However, may we also nominate individuals for this. I know a few forumers who would be perfect for this.

Just a random question- What happens to the ppl who dont speak english i think that that shoukd be considerd when picking ppl for aoa.

I mean we need some bilangual persons not only english ppl
