The Ultimate PvP Tournament?

Heyy all!

These are my thoughts about "The ultimate PvP tournament".

Since the leaderboard got removed and won't come back, we'll need something new to motivate players to PvP. I think this is something which could solve it.

Let's start..


In my eyes you'll only get an insane tournament by letting all players wearing the same gears, no Speedset, no awakenings, no pet combine.. all this removed will make (imo) the perfect tournament which is based at skill, not at gears.

For example all teams wear the same catagory of items.

Pool1, Team A: (the kickoffs)
Mage:
Weapon: Glintstone Blunderbluss of Wisdom (gems: 1Eye, 1para, 1weak mind)
Helmet: Vili Helmet (gems:3x noble nature jewels)
Armor: Imbued Security robe (gems: 2x eye)
Ring: Blood Ruby of shuyal (gems: 1x noble diamond, 2x noble Nature)
Pendant: Leprechaunt Pendant (gems: 3x weak mind)
Belt: Elondrian Brilliance belt (Gems: 3x exquise lightning)

The Rogue and the tank Will have the gears from the same catagory such as the mage ones has. So aswell as the same jewels, only the primary jewels will be different.

After each round the gears will be mixed and everyone will have different gears again, so it won't rely on gears what ppl like or not.


So how will this work...

Each team will exists out of 3players, one mage, one tank, one rogue. There will be Pools made, one pool will exist out of 4teams. Depending on the amount of teams the Pools Will be catagorized. For example if there are 22teams, you'll get 4 Pools of 4 teams and 3pools of 3teams.

The teams will be randomly ordered.

Every week at saturday or sunday (STS HQ time 4pm, I think this will be the most active timezone) will there be one final, for example:

Week 1:
Pool A:
Team 1 vs team 2, team 3 vs team 4
Pool B:
Team 1 vs team 2, team 3 vs team 4
Etc etc

Week 2:
Pool A:
Team 1 vs team 3, team 2 vs team 4
Pool B:
Team 1 vs team 3, team 2 vs team 4
Etc etc

Week 3:
Pool A:
Team 1 vs team 4, team 2 vs team 3
Pool B:
Team 1 vs team 4, team 2 vs team 3
Etc etc

The 4th week will be a rest week, incase there are matches which couldn't be completed for some substances, those can be played in this week.

The match will take 15minutes, get as many kills as possible, the point system Will be granted as followed:

Win: 3points
Tie: 1point
Losing: 0points

This will take 4 weeks.


After the end of the week, the 2teams at place 3 and 4 Will be eliminated, the first 2 Will continue to the quarter final.


At week 5 it will be all mixed again.

The winner of pool A will play against the 2nd place for pool B for example, and the 2nd place of pool A will play against the winner of pool B.

in case there are enough teams, 1/8 finals will be added

This will also count for the half final and the finals.

The half finals and the finals will be livestreamed by any dev or some bot and the other players can watch the game.

The winners will be rewarded with a small gold price and An exclusive Vanity!

How to enter?
The way of entery will be very easy.
For example:
Team name: Pray4Mages
Players:
Tank: Sweettank
Mage:[/U] Construct
Rogue:[/U] Ilovecritics

Everyone is allowed to enter!, Only one entry each person, if there will be multiple accounts owned by the same person take part in the tournament, all teams of that person will be disqualified

All those entries will go into a randomizer and the Pools will be randomly created.

Sts already has in place the "levelling sets" and "trading permit" that can be used to standardize tournament gear/pets. Each participant creates a new character and follows a tournament moderator (a trustworthy character preferrably running the tournament) through maps to gain experience up to levels 5, 10, 15, etc. At each 5 level interval, sts already gives each new character a standardized gear set which should be used for tournament play. The tournament moderator escorts the new characters through levelling zones and instructs all new characters to dismiss pets and not pick up any gear drops. The moderator can visually see pets and characters picking up gear in the chat box. If a new character picks up gear while levelling they must delete and re-level. Once the new character is properly levelled, the "trading permit" restriction will ensure that the new character cannot receive any outside gear/pets during the tournament. Participants are restricted to using one of the three starter pets, so they cant just buy a op pet from the stable via plat. Level 10 or 15 would be good tournament levels since they do require some thinking as far as skill tree builds due to the limited number of skill points to allocate.

If you want a higher level tournament you could just have everyone pay a 250 plat entrance fee to auto-level a new character to 57 or whatever it is now, and they will automatically receive a sts standard gear set. The trading permit restriction will also apply to prevent outside gear/pets. If sts wants to encourage participation by lowering the auto-levelling package cost for the tournament that would be welcome as well.

Anyway, that's just two ways to create an even playing field for a tournament using the system sts already has in place. Now if people cant live without their fancier gear or nekros, then... good luck with that.

Good idea, mate. It's nice to see such players who suggest some ideas to make pvp alive again. I wish STS was also that much interested in pvp, as well.

Moderator account has privilege access to the game. In AL history I never seen "youtuber" hosting a tournament.

They can use almost all command in the game. Boot, mute, host and etc.
