Removing gold from the game is not a bad thing. We're balancing gold sinks with the desire to level up. We don't want everyone to get to 65 in a day, expansions should take awhile (unless you want to cruise through them with gold, or really blast your way through with plat).

Just a suggestion ;-)
First thought was (is) way too gold expensive to merit running the 66kmap, but if I read you right there's no chance at drops at all (other than xp) if you're below 66. So it seems even less of a reason to pay 66k if I understand.
Being that us spending gold doesn't financially help you as a company why not lower the gold cost?
And/or
If the intent is that we farm elsewhere so that we can play the new map, why not let us also pay with cryo coins, glint coins and balance tokens?
I understand that you guys need a gold sink but couldn't their have been another way other then limiting how much we play when new content drops? 66k is a lot and hypothetically speaking I would bet the average level 61 going into cap didnt have 10m or more to their name and unless your nutzo rich it will drain our pockets before the weekend is even over. Which in turn will make us resort to farmin old maps which in turn defeats the entire purpose of dropping an expansion to begin with. I thought the whole point of new expansion was to play the heck out of it and not force us to play the old maps that we've been playing for the past years, months, etc. The vibe I get from this expansion is pay a lot of plat or gold per run or don't play at all and I don't understand that .

If you guys want a gold sink this isn't the proper way to do it. First of all what do you think new players will do once they reach level 61, most of them won't have maus unlocked because it takes way too much time and won't have a lot of help to unlock maus since most players already have maus 5-6 unlocked so they won't be able to access the new maps unless they purchase plat or just spend most of their time farming. Second, I'm not willing to pay 66k or 50 plat per run to reach level 66, if you calculate it, it'll cost between 6-9m to reach the new cap (credits to kakashi) and the worst part of all is that we're just gaining xp and the mobs don't drop any sort of loot or gold. Third, we got lives. I honestly expected way more from you guys.
Dunno if any dev will read this, but (expansion story spoilers ahead) is there any chance you could reconsider the second boss' achievement name? I realize that the mobs' words are already a hint, but I think I'd really rather have that little bit of doubt rather than having the story's development/twists already shoved in my face.

New expansion = Farm Mausoleum to pay for access to the only new map?
Yes, you can use your friends' bed. As far as I was told, you just need to visit your own house (25k start house is fine) before going to your friends' and sleep in their bed.
This was my understanding too, and I'm not at all upset with this setup. But as usual, people need instant gratification and will complain if they cannot get the best items in one day.
Why is it so difficult to understand? Just like last season where you had to work your butt off in graveyard to gain entrance to mausoleum, this expansion requires you to work your butt off to get to the raid zone. So farm for gold in Underhul and Masoleum, when you have earned 66k you can gain access to the new dungeon and gain some XP, then repeat! Yes, it is surely a long haul. But if you get there too fast, then you will become bored when there isn't any new expansion until next year.
Also, as it is so hard to reach level 66 and get to the raid zone, imagine what the loot will be worth when you get there?
