Here's the deal guys, as I've had a lot of questions recently about this issue:

Ideally I'd like to not run a tournament with any byes. But if there are a large number of players who continue to ask to join, then I may have to randomly generate teams that receive byes. But that strictly depends on how many teams request AFTER we have hit 16 teams. After we hit 16 teams, I will wait a bit to see how many people request to join. That'll give all the contestants an opportunity to practice/talk about some of the outcomes they'd like to see
