It's only worth spending money on advertising if the new players who hear about the game via the advertisement collectively spend more money on platinum than STS has spent on the advertising. I can't see how attracting new players to PL will pay off unless the game is rebalanced a bit to make it more welcoming to new players with no experience or resources
