Do you have a compatible non-vanity weapon equipped? This is a gun type vanity, so you can't be using a staff.

Holy crap. That's bad news. I didn't even know one needed a "compatible" weapon (doesn't really make any sense). Wow. So I can see it in auctions with my staff in hand. But I can't use it in-game. That's just great

Each class has 2 weapon types, and corresponding vanities for each. That's why you see 2 different vanity weapon slots.
