Gear and skill build for ebon staff user

Anyone know the best gear and skill set if i use ebon staff? I run mausoleum and deep marsh

If you plan on just running mauso or deep marsh, then I'd recommend you to get the nightmare set for mauso and mire set for deep marsh.

For skills, go get fireball, clock, gale, and shield. You already have ebon staff, so you don't need life-giver. Once your ebon staff procs, then you'll get health and mana back in return and you also do damage over time as well.
Fireball - 4/4
Clock - 3/4 [no time explosion]
Gale - 3/4 [no speed]
Shield - 3/4 [no knockback]

Mastery:
Max out gale or fireball, and put 5 on on clock

Passives:
int>armour>str>dmg>dex

Ult:
Energize or meteor shower, but energize is better overall

Ebon staff give damage just like reflection right? That mean i should remove skill that stun and root?

This is a build I use for pve which seems to be working very well when using ebon armor and staff


Passives

5/5 on int/dex/str/armor/crit/dmg

Skills

Fb - 3/5 - you don't need scorch and impact
Light - 3/5 - you don't need shock and electrical discharge
Gale - 3/5 - you don't need speed of wind and weighted wind
Time - 3/5 - you don't need dodge & death and freeze time

Ultimate

Energize

Masteries
7/10 in fb
5/10 in light
6/10 in gale
(with these you can mess around with and do your own variations however always put some in gale as gale mastery removes negative effects so its your replacement for not having a shield to save yourself from things like curse in maus)


Basics of how to use

Always do a charged gale attack for that armour buff and give you breathing space to push mobs back a sec, also always charge time just for that extra damage, however fb and light just spam away, and with energise ultimate should be able to clean up big mobs with no problem at all.


This also the same set up i use to solo m5 sometimes and mid size map can be done in like 15/20mins alone

for ebon staff or warrior's ebon weapon like aegis freeze time for time shift is not needed as it will not help killing mobs if they are freeze, i like dodge and death but then up to you to decide.

I do mainly maus i use
1. gale (max mastery)
2. light or ice
3. time shift or replace with FB
4. shield

I also use "energize' mastery to kill boss at the end faster

Thx, i tried BaronB's build but i found myself weak without shield.
Which one should i use between lightning or ice? Ice will freeze the enemies but my lightning dont give much damage.

Ice will give temp freeze... Clock freeze if is perm ebon AA is not effective then

Try replacing light for shield instead to toughen yourself up a bit more, great as light is, it does only damage 1 person at a time so out the lot better off losing that ^.^
