I think its alright, getting there, but still pretty far from a polished game. I'm still not sure how they will differentiate themselves from o&c (w/o the current hacks), the graphics do look better in o&c, there is no story line as of yet, actions are buggy, GUI needs to be put out better. Hopefully when the full game comes out, it will make me mind=blown, but as for now..meh

The game will be free when it cones out.

Meanwhile, they're advertising it as a "lifetime sub". Why would that be the highlight of purchasing the pass if the game is to remain free? I get the feeling that you'll be eating your words once the game gets on its feet, or like Eb said:

Only the title is similar and zenonia had the name first, I'm a fan of the series. That's an issue that the WoM are already well aware of, which is why they're releasing their open beta game as "faction wars". Midgard has been referenced many times, more famously and way before mobile gaming in Thor from Marvel Comics.

Beta was given out to 3.8k people for FREE, the amount of interest the game had people wanted another way of accessing beta. That's when the Founders Dragon Mount was introduced (only 1000 released ever), as they needed a bigger server etc to handle that, making it 4.8k and more people still wanted access to the beta introduced TBW PASS but all this was from the decision of all players that missed the initial 3.8k passes.

There is also a dropped 'Plat' currency called Amber for players that are unable to 'Contribute/Purchase IAP' along with TapJoy.

I would rather pay for something that I want! Rather than something that is required to play/enjoy.

Midgard is a Norse mythology town or something like that so it's common.

The game will be free to play, there is no doubt about that. However, they will have a monthy fee if you want a VIP subscription. This will give you server priority/vanities/etc. Thats the only subscription there will be.

As far as it turning into a money pit.. There will, of course be some in-app-purchases. Like elixirs, armors, weapons, etc.. But there are a few things that will set them apart. As Bod said, you can get Amber drops in game, that can be used for IAP. Of course it will be hard as crap to get, but just having the option to grind for IAP's is awesome in my book. I would have rather grinded my tail off in SL to do a skill reset, than spend 2 plat.

Regarding the weapons/armors, they have already stated that the best end game weapons/armors will be obtainable only through dungeons. That means no buying your way into the best gear. So far, the current model they are working on gives much more versatility to their money pit. Saying money-pit in a derogatory way is kind of silly, since all games are money pits. You would be hard pressed to find a game that isn't (or at least doesn't want to be) a money-pit. They have to support themselves somehow. The big difference comes from how they present this money pit. If you feel forced to spend money on a game, then it sucks. If you feel like you are choosing to spend the money, then it's okay.

Exactly Bod. Their beta servers currently can't handle a ton of people. And with almost 5,000 people signed up for just this beta, and trying to satisfy the demand of people wanting in, they placed these limits.

IAP Armour will only be added for players that are unable to grind/farm for the best. That said the gear will be Grade -1 meaning this is 1 above the lowest possible armour in-game.(pretty useless for hardcore gamer or PvP)

Aaand, I stopped playing at lvl 23...lol, I'll try playing again when the full game is out. A 'beta master' title is not enough of an incentive for all the constant grinding in the same place :/
