Should be rated M for mature... Blood, gore, & violence! All awesome and honestly would love it to have no mute system then... Just like COD, WoW & Halo you can say and do what you want with lots of killing action and no worrying about kids but we all know kids still play them...

We aren't arguing, it is more of a discussion of what you guys think. I know that we don't get a say, but if more people think it will be 13+, the team can respond to this and tone down the gore.
I disagree. It sounds like STS has pretty much finished the development, therefore I would think they don't want to go back and edit a whole game they just made.
Agreed... If they want to hit mainstream and run with the "big boys" of rpg/mmorpgs, then they need to create a world that will envelope players... therefore no "mute" chat systems, realistic gore/violence, battle sequences... the works, AND they need to put their own creative spin on it (not another WoW or COD). They already have 2 games for 13+. Give us older folks a 17+ game.If people don't like it, go play either of the TWO 13+ games.
Hopefully It's 13+. I am almost in age limit if it is 17+ but how bad can it be? Even if it is... maybe a guardian could confirm that you could play it.
If no one has noticed, Xbox live is flooded by 9 year olds in 17+ games (COD, gears of war, GTA etc.) Maybe this is what they're trying to eliminate, but 17+ is a bit excessive IMO. Also, I have met some really cool people under the age of 17 in PL and I don't think that it would be fair that they cannot play because of age, even if it is the law.
P.S. ( R means restricted unless accompanied by a guardian. Same principle for M games.)
It is not the same thing as R rated since there is no real way to verify things such as guardians. People can easily lie on the Internet.

When I used to play neopets (a loooong time ago, my friend) if you were under the age of 13, because of the chat feature, you had to have a letter sent in to their hq stating that it was ok for you to make an account, and that the parent would supervise your online game time.
a bit extreme, no? thankfully I never had to do that.

How will they really know how old someone is
There really isn't a solid way to know, but if someone was to say they were underage for the game, they would be banned until they reach the min. age.
