Hello Guys,

I've just got to lv50 and I'm not sure if I would like to continue this pathway of Full Int. Ever since completing the last few floors of AO 3 (overlord, ksarr etc..) I had a hard time staying alive. I was thinking about going Dex/Int but wasn't too sure, is it more fun? I understand enchantress weren't design for taking hits unlike bears/birds I can't afford to sets of builds, so your opinion would be highly appreciated.

Sorry for milking your help but can you tell me the ideal gear for full int & dex/int builds?

I have always been a DEX bird, and I have also had a had time staying alive. But, I can tell you that the DEX gear is very expensive compared to the INT and STR sets. Like I said, I am not familiar with the INT and STR skills and such, but there is a big difference in prices of DEX gear.

Pure int does the most pve damage in the game. Just dont try not to be the hero, and run straight into mobs. as for gear, I would filter for level 51 items in cs. Even the orange items, like scrubbers, scrapers etc. are good. I would use that gear to lvl 53, then sell, and buy lvl 53 non pink items. Once you hit 55, you can get the sewers set (if your poor) or the mega mage set if you have some dough. Gl!

I remember going through the same questions you are when I hit 50, lol. I ended up going int/str. I regret that deeply.

Here's what I would do for..

Items
Do what Walkhardd suggested, use all sewers items. Wand sets are going to be your best friend for a while. And always use gemstone wands over the others, they give the most damage, if I remember correctly.

Stats
Keep lowest dex for your level items, and rest onto Int. The reasons I do this is 1: for extra hit %, and 2: the extra weapon damage.

Spell Build
While I see why you want the debuffs, you really should reconsider weakness. Believe me: drain, frostbite and icestorm are better than weakness. Nightmare is alright, but I would've waited on that one too. ;p You want to maximize your skill damage, and after AO, the debuffs stop being very useful lol.

This is all my preference, feel free to ignore me completely. ;o

on another note, if i was to go dex/int build would i use a bow, gun, daggers or dual swords?

Best is bow. Gun costs a bit too much and daggers not my fan. This is just my opinion... ^^

i would agree here dex mages have very low armor and are only decent in pve when they have buffs and shield because the mobs can really tear you up but a pally str/int would have great armor some added dodge is using certain str gear plus as mage you can still heal and shield n such only hit u take from becoming not pure int is a loss in skill damage
