Anyone know if this really does stack with 4X combo? 8X XP sounds way too good to be true....wondering if it's worth logging in for.

Yes, you can stack xp multipliers. So with a 4x elixir, 1.3x bonus for a full group and up to 1.5 bonus for fighting higher level monsters (by accessing higher level areas than you otherwise would be able to) with the 2x bonus on top - well that's a _LOT_ of bonus!

Also from my experience in PL after creating a brand new L1 and going solo I gained 7 xp per kill (1.25x for yellow threat level, 2x for the double xp event and 3x for the free daily elixir), so 1.25*2*3=7.5, this would support that the multipliers stack via multiplication.
