Attack vs Damage???

What is the difference between Attack and Damage and which is more important? Damage is hard to come by so I figured that was more important. Someone also told me that Attack is similar to PL and SL's hit%, can anyone else confirm this?

I'm going to respec my skill points to damage if damage is actually the amount of hurt you put on enemies because I was thinking it was attack this whole time.

there's a lot of guesswork going around atm, but what we know for sure is that attack gives a small amount of health and damage, and damage makes your attacks and skills hit harder.

Raw damage is hard to find on items, apart from your weapon, so you're stuck for the most part stacking attack to increase your damage.

Attack gives a small bonus to dmg, hp, and crit%
Dmg is straight dmg to attacks and skills.
