    Default Opinion on Humania being for more than just 65-70

    a few weeks ago Cinco stopped by the chatbox. During the discussion he said the developer working on humania had been pulled off to work on DL and then they decided to make changes to humania to make to accessible to everyone. Those of us in chat assumed he meant it is going to be like winterfest/halloween where all levels can join but the mobs/boss scale to the highest level. I was just wondering what everyone's opinion on this is?

    I, myself, am not a fan and plan to host my own games and boot anyone under 65. I would prefer they would stay on the linear type expansion we've seen in the past. How does everyone else feel?

    (presuming title should be talking about Humania, not Fang...)

    I think there's the possibility of Humania scaling.

    If it does, however, I would hate to see high levels running with low levels as it totally ruins the gameplay. For it to work, the first person in would have to determine what other levels can join. Presuming the gear scales every 10 levels, only L1-10 could join if a L8 is first in. Only L11-20 could join if a L15 is first in, etc.

    The question then becomes, how will the gear actually scale?

    For the lower levels, having just L10, L20, L30, L40, L50 gear makes sense. I would think such gear would basically have the same stats as WF items, much to the dismay of WF merchants.

    But what about L60-70?

    I'm thinking there would be L60 gear, then the next set would be L66/68/70. Essentially, L55+ players would drop L60 gear until they got to L66.

    Now, the main problem with Humania scaling to all levels is apparent: There would be no reason for a new player to run anything but Humania, unless Humania does not give XP until you get to L65!

    I was wondering how this would work myself, as I saw those comments in that chatbox. My guess is that if it is accessible to all levels (or maybe "more levels" so not necessarily all) that each map/board would be accessed through a portal or by hosting/joining one. By running in to the portal you would automatically be routed to a game for your level group (51-55, 56-60, 61-65 etc.) or when you are trying to join a game you would only be presented with games in your level category. I don't think they would allow low levels in to the same games as level capped people.

    My other questions are about the drops. Would the same drops scale to all levels? I hope not. I don't want to see a level 21 wearing the same new gear as a level 71. If the drops were unique in each level range this would avoid that and make twinking a whole new ball-game. Maybe pinks wouldn't drop at all in lower level games. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    Maybe they could just reuse some grays to purples from other campaigns for low level drops. And maybe if you host you can select what levels or level range you want.

    I always assumed by what he wrote was that it would be similar to the alien oasis stages.

    Imo a permanently scaled campaign would be a fail because there are so many things which could become a real issue like drew listed. Perhaps like different campaigns for different lvls?

    By looking at the picture (Beach => Sea) and the current map list, it seems that Humania is going to be another continent which implies for something more than just a 65-70 campaign. Too much room for just one campaign.

    Actually it played out fairly simple in my mind. The bosses drop every kind of pink possible. Has anyone played Mario Kart Double-Dash? If you have you'll remember that the last two characters you unlock have a chance to receive everyone's special ability. I think the bosses for Humania would be very much the same. I don't think the same gear will scale, I think only different gear will scale. For Example.

    To make it easy, say 3 people enter a level. One character is level 68, one is level 50, and another is level 23. Any pink at all can drop to any one of these three characters. So say a voodoo robe drops. No matter who it drops to, it will be level 35 voodoo robe. Now, let's say a Humania pink drops. If it drops to the level 50, or level 23, it will be a level 70 pink. However, if it drops to the 68, it will scale as a level 68 pink. The same effect would happen if a crystalline item dropped. It would be level 25 to the Level 50 and 68 character, but it will scale as a 23 to the level 23 character. Make sense?

    This would even help somewhat with the insane prices in the market because more people will be farming Humania. It will also bring back somewhat the system from the sewer age where the scaled items were more rare and expensive than the normal items. After all, if the only people receiving scaled gear are the level 66-69s and ALL THE REST of the players would receive the normal level 70 gear, then that would cause the scaled items to be more rare.

    in O&C every dungeon has a normal and a legendary (lvl 60 required) mode wich can be chosen before entering. could be working in PL also, but mixing up lvl 70 with lvl 10 is bs...

    Why is it that the only thing thought of is scaled runs? Don't any of you remember the time any lvl 17 can join any campaign in the game? Here's what I think. If it's going to be accessible to all lvl's, then they are probably getting rid of the lvl requirements to join campaigns. We all know how the scaling mobs went in the Halloween event...

    Overall, if they do get rid of that accursed lvl requirement, I'll actually start playing PL again.

    Maybe the comment refers to something completely different. I remember talk about Humania being a 'closed' campaign you need to buy access to with plat. Now that all campaign areas are plat-free to enter, maybe there are some tweaks that need to be done on that side?

    Well, in DL all the campaigns are for everyone. Works quite nicely there.

    DL is a level anywhere kind of game no matter your level (some levels give you ore Xp then others). Until guilds hit in DL, we can see how this game will shape up....
    And by what Robert said in first post, that it's what its leaning towards in both SL and PL.

    all that needs to happen is convert all armors to vanity and we can all be the same lol.

    Level anywhere elixir already makes everything open to all levels might as well have a scale mobs elixir...
