discount the randoms while making the purchase

If you get he coveted item in one try, keep it to yourself.

No one cares.

It is random chance. You can get it in one try... or in 500. The point isn't just that it is rare, but that for every person who gets it in 1-3 tries... there is the person that doesn't get it after 100 dollars.

Getting ecliptic in 20 tries or brand/pest in 20 tries is the *average*. Plenty do well while others get monumentally screwed over virtual property.

SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

If you beat the math through cosmic luck... good for you. But be happy in your head.

Some people have/are spending too much money to beat the odds over a game design that prolly shouldn't be in a game supposedly devoted to casuals.

I remember those NBA trading cards i used to buy, on the back, the odds of getting the special (ie. autographed or holograms) are listed (ie. 1:100, 1:250 etc).

My odds are 0 in 0. I won't participate in taking a million (or 1) chances at an item that will be outdated or inferior in a week or a month. This type of thing is fine with vanities that don't affect stats, they have longevity, but not an item with a shelf life. It's just crazy to get caught up in that cycle imho. Stat weapons/items have a shelf life. They will eventually lose their relevence at some point (even to the point the white items we all scrap are more powerful) its a matter if time. seems a waste of my money for a momentary advantage. If it had no stats, and it didn't matter if it was level 3 or 300, I would probably participate, you could carry something cool forever. As level increase, or new items are added they will become ineffective. I will stick to drops, now that I reached level 21 the pinks finally started flowing

It's not as simple as that. No one expects to be able to play a game for free. We want to support the devs but we also want to get what we pay for. Gamble packs aren't the way to do that imo. speaking for myself, I'd gladly spend money for items straight up. For example, I'd buy a new moon gem for 25 plat if I knew what the stats were before hand and I knew I was going to get it.

Also, it's not complaining it's feedback and it does help and it does solve problems. Sts has a good history of listening to it's player base and that's why I believe we won't see many gamble packs in the future. They'll realize people are fed up with them and aren't buying them anymore and then they'll make the items available by themselves in the store.

Btw, saying things like "it's a simple as that" and "nuf said" are dismissive of other's opinions and make you sound like a jerk.

Where is the fun in not rubbing it into peoples face? But, yeah, I can see how these "luck" items would loose their appeal quickly over time, especially at the frequency at which they are now released.

Maybe if everyone posts how much plat they've spent gambling in game then more will be convinced not to try it. If enough people stop trying then sts will put these items up for sale individually like I feel they should have done in the first place.

I still have all mine. 1st edition black luster envoy of the beggining, 1st edition arch fiend of gilfer, 1st edition spell binding circle, 1st edition mirror force, 1st edition harpies feather duster, 1st edition swords of revealing light. My experience with playing cards is exactly why I will not spend money on STS's booster packs. If they want my money they can give me a flat out guarantee I am getting what I am paying for. Otherwise STS won't see a dime from me in DL.

Here's the thing. You ARE getting what you pay for, X number of gems and a chance at a rare weapon. It doesn't matter if you get the rare or not, as that wasn't what was clearly labeled on the description.
