You asked how rushing is helpful? How is it not? It expands your PVP vocabulary. It helps you win more close-combat situations, and much more. Must I list all the reasons?
Rushing is fun, reason i dont in endgame is 1) everyone is better than me
2) i like my guild and my rep 3) dont want to be rushed for life and kicked from guild 4) make a few new toons and rush people on them. Problem solved
