All platinum items are player specific, meaning they cannot be traded, sold or brought. This is because in most cases you are actually buying the item for yourself. However, a couple of vanities are tradeable, but these are loot drops usually.

Daaaa The platinum is a paid currency. When 35 was level cap in PL platinum weapons were tradable. But they changed that so that people who had platinum could not give the items to others :/ In other words forced us to buy platinum instead of giving and taking from other people
