HERES MY THEORY:

All that happen probably was Technoemail and the team made some BOSS antennas, and Techno went to go put into Samhaynes account and spell check came and accidently spelt Saycred instead..Then Technoemail realized oh snap i just gave these out and Saycred was like oh snap WOW what are these in my stash and was like im goin to go sit in CS and see if anyone notices. Then BOOM thread appears and now were here.

Antennas started being given out to celebrate PL's port to Android. Asommers went from town to town telling people to wave. Two droid costumes were also given out as contest prizes. Eventually additional antennas came about and we were told to TRY TO COLLECT THEM ALL because someday there might be a special vanity prize for people who have them all. However, after that some antennas were only given as runner-up prizes in contests. However, people still feel compelled to HAVE THEM ALL.

This caused the antenna craze. Now I guess we are wrong for wanting them?

It works well for STS to keep the players wanting things. At game cons they can easily show a zone full of wild happy players by announcing that there will be a give-away. STS is usually in an Android-related booth.

If the devs tired of people begging for antennas, always wanting to get, get, get, then maybe it should be declared once and for all that there is NO NEED TO COLLECT THEM ALL any more -- that there will never be a vanity given to the one person who has them all.

I'd really love to know this because these antennas are taking up space in my inventory and I'd like to delete them. I'm an Apple fanboi. I never wanted them. There really was no reason to collect them all, was there?
