STAR LEGENDS PRICE GUIDE

Purpose: My hope is that this guide will become the most complete price guide available for the Star Legends market, using prices and trends from the Auction Terminal. Note that this guide will rarely reflect prices going in forums and in chat; however, the prices should be similar enough. Hopefully this will give everyone a good source to check before listing an item in the Auction Terminal - as we do our best to filter out bad (inaccurate) prices so you don't have to.

Note: Highlighted Items are items with questionable highs or lows (flagged as probably an inaccurate price listing). Requesting more accurate info from anyone who has it.

THINGS TO KNOW

Auction Terminal is not free.
Star Legends takes a cut of everything you sell in the Auction Terminal. This fee starts at 11 credits for an item selling for 249 or less. From there, the fee goes up 1 credit for every 100 additional credits you wish to sell for. So the cost for listing an item at 250 is 12 credits, 350 is 13, etc. Listing an item for 35500 credits costs 365 credits.

Additionally, you have the option to increase the listing time of your auction. The default is 3 hours, and the prices above reflect that time frame. The next length is 11 hours, then 23 hours, and three days. The base prices (items listed at 249 or less) are as follows:

3 hours: 11 credits
11 hours: 26 credits
23 hours: 51 credits
3 days: 101 credits

You get only one auction slot to start out with.
If you were lucky enough to upgrade your character to a premium character early on, you got quite possibly the best deal in the game - 10 extra slots, giving you 11 total, for 30 platinum. However, if you're like many who missed this chance, it will cost you 75 platinum to purchase those ten slots. The prices for purchasing additional auction bays are as follows:

1 auction bay: 10 platinum
5 auction bays: 40 platinum
10 auction bays: 75 platinum

As you can see, it is most beneficial if you can swing the upgrade for all 10 slots. It's really the best deal. And if you want to make the most out of your platinum to credit turnover, purchasing the additional auction slots will yield you the most in-game income - if you're successful with your auctions, it will probably earn you more than purchasing actual credits with your platinum will.

STEPS TO A SUCCESSFUL AUCTION

Step 1: Assess.
What are you trying to sell? A handful of green items? A legendary weapon? This step is simple, but what you're selling determines where to go next.

Step 2: Familiarize.
Check prices. Check this guide. Check the auction, and do it often. If you know what prices are doing, you have an idea of what to sell your items for.

Step 3: Decision time.
If you're selling an item that is worth a lot, it may not be worth it to list your item in AH. It might be more beneficial to you to try hitting up the chat or the forums first. As a last resort, the auction terminal provides you with more in game visibility but it is higher risk (you lose money if your auction fails). Make your choice wisely. And if you're just unloading some green or purple drops, by all means list away because AH is the quickest way to sell the cheaper items.

WHY YOUR ITEMS AREN’T SELLING...

... AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

Keep track of what works and what doesn’t.
I can’t stress this enough. Don’t keep making the same mistakes over and over again - if you keep relisting the same green item and it never sells, you probably would have made more money just liquidating the item. If you listed something and it sold right away, it could have been for a few reasons: more than likely you either undersold your item, or that item is in high demand right now, but either way that is something to take note of.

Watch prices and quantities.
When there are 20+ of the same item currently selling in the auction house, the prices are likely to be very low. However, if you’re the only one selling a valuable item you can probably sell it for close to its full value. If a going price is lower than what you want to sell it for, you should probably hold onto it for a while. Wait until either prices go up or quantities go down.

Watch the chat and auction regularly, looking for what items are in high demand.
One of the most important things to know is when to sell an item - if an item won’t sell, people probably don’t want it right now. It’s possible that if you wait a little while, it will sell for more later. Right after an event starts, it seems like everyone is trying to sell the drops - cheap. Do you really want to try to compete with all that and sell your item for way less than it’s worth? If you’re smart, you’ll wait until there aren’t very many left in the auction house so you’ll have less competition.

To undersell, or not?
You know how irritating it is when an item doesn’t sell and you have to eat the cost of listing your item in the auction? It’s even more irritating to list an item for 100 credits and less than a minute later see someone else list ten of the same item for 99 credits. People who are constantly underselling keep everyone else’s auctions from being successful, and they are also driving the market prices farther and farther down. Sometimes it does pay to be the lowest price, but try to stay close to what an item is actually worth rather than dipping too low. This keeps market prices stable and ensures that you are getting a good value for your sale.

Punish the undersellers.. kind of.
When you see someone list a ton of items for way below what you know the item sells for, this is your chance to make some money from their mistake. But just because a price looks low doesn’t mean it will actually sell for more, so beware. Only buy up low-priced items if you know you can sell them for more.

Be willing to take risks.
If you’re curious as to whether or not certain items are actually selling, go ahead and list them. For example, I wondered if the green items from the hive would actually go for anything in the auction so I listed a whole bunch of them for the regular three hour slot. Three hours later, not a single item had sold - so now I know to liquidate them from now on.

Actually I think I may have come up with a pretty good system for checking and keeping track of everything. I don't plan on posting greens and yellows unless there is a demand for it (I think shields and implants might be an exception, for example).

I'd like to have something for crafting items - that's sort of the reason I wanted a price guide like this, because I don't even know where to start when I want to sell some of my crafting materials.

I just went through and organized everything I've posted so far and I'm pretty pleased with how it looks - it's easy to follow and more importantly, easy to update. All I have to do now that I'm almost finished is check back every so often to see if there's something new, then check each section periodically to make sure trends are staying steady. I don't plan on changing a high/low unless something drastic happens, and I will only change suggested prices if the trends actually do change.

At the moment, the posted prices are the current high/low in the auction terminal. I'll keep an eye on that item, I've noticed that some people don't bother to check prices before selling something. They just make a guess and stick it in the auction, and it's even worse when that item is not currently in the terminal - there's nothing to go by unless you've been around for a while and have watched prices.

edit: I added your suggested low to the item. I am not at all familiar with vanity price trends, so stuff like this is very helpful!

Update: Added new event items. The prices on these are outrageously wide from low to high because they are still too new to be stable. Will keep an eye on them and update accordingly as they settle into the market.

Thanks - Added that as the suggested price. Also thanks to everyone who's been helping with error checking, I am obviously not perfect and there are way too many items for me to catch every mistake. I can usually tell when someone put something in auction for waaayyy too high, but since that was the only one I'd ever seen in auction I didn't flag it until just now. XD

For Nova Blaster I bought one for 85k from cs, and I suggest 75k-85k.

for the Electro Razor I suggest 20k-25k.
