The ratio of a person's kd in both pve and pvp is totally independent of their skill. A very bad player could easily boost their ratios if they so desired. By contrast a very good player may have a low kd ratio due to the fact that they always seek to fight top pvpers.

It's impossible to gauge skill by looking at a person's ratio or goals. To do that, you to monitor a person through many games and judge based on their most consistent performance.

Not necessarily TOTALLY independent. I know some good pvpers that never boost, and still maintain excellent ratios due to skill.

Also, depends on the lvl range, depends on the kind of playing.

You might be 35 mage, having a green ping, and fight 1v1, have a good combo and build and have a 3.0 kdr.

I might be an endgame bird who plays ctf only with 30k/21k kills, which is 1.4 kdr, but i also have 1300 captures.

Now, 1v1 doesn't take much skills, more of a connection/luck factor.

Now let's see when people will be picking a player for a 3vs3 ctf match. Who are they gonna pick, your endgame toon knowing that u have a 35 3.0 ratio twink or me with my 1.4 endgame ctf ratio and 1300 captures?

Me of course, and in the end i'l be 300 times better than u, and my team will win.

    Got it? Haha.

Even in endgame, heaps of players leave weak teams and join strong ones, or make stacks, don't contribute to capturing the flag.

So yeah, kdr is all bs. My theory is that the only way to determine if a plsyer is good or not is to play with or against him in a fair ctf game.
It was fun while it lasted.

Yeah twinking for kills at low levels was pretty popular IIRC.

Or it could just be because of gear.

I have a level 50 with no kills or deaths.

Tried calculating the ratio but a blackhole formed.

Is it possible to have a negative kdr? O.O sure, there's undefined and ratios less than 1, but I, not so sure about negative. Or am I missing something, and negative kdr actually means bad kdr?
