Are rushers really... Rushers?

I've been rushed many times in PVP... Mainly by older players, it seems... And believe me, it's pretty annoying. But... Was pvp originally meant to be FFA? did people go make their own rules, like "go" and "good fight"? I haven't been around long enough to know... But someone told me PVP was meant to be FFA, and people made their own rules. I don't knew if that's true, but if so, rushers are just either old school pvpers or people who want to annoy others. Old players: TELL ME IF SOMEONE LIED TO ME ABOUT THIS!

I get the rushing from other games I play
I did not know you weren't allowed to pvp the way you're supposed to.. So I get many people mad at me for being a rusher, but in the end, I'm just playing the way I want to

You have 2 options;
1. Rush and get yelled at.
2. Do that stupid 'go Worship' thing

I usually do 1. And ignore the complaints.

"Go" was technically created, but not out of thin air. Almost every other mmorpg has a system for "challenging" an opponent to a duel, then they can accept or decline. Because PL didn't have this, a couple of guys improvised leaving us with "go." Problem is, in other mmorpg's you can decline. In PL, refusing someone's challenge=getting rushed.

You are dead on man. I was one if those guys two years ago saying go because I was use to a challenge system on other mmo games but i evolved quick in pl pvp. I love FFA, Rushing & 1v1 it's all good

Rushing is rushing . My def of rushing is to fight someone unprepared for a fight. You can be rushed, even in FFA. The system of pvp is opinion based, usually determined by majority but rushers are still rushers. I believe that rusher is a term thats often thought as bad but I think that its sorta like a title like "mailman" ^.^

Something bad with rushers is that :

We are peacefully speaking about PVP, about skills etc. And try new combos..
A player join our game, comes close to us, say hello.. And suddently, damage buff and kills u for no reason, says "you got owned noob" and leaves the game.. Do you think it's fun? It kills fun of 3/4 of pvpers who are meant to improve themselves, and who wants to play fairely, 1vs1 buffed fights..

If you want to rush, why don't you ask before "FFA?" and if not, leave the game; or just go to CTF, it's always FFA..

This is PvP, not a towne.

In PvP, expect to fight.
Don't expect to talk away like this is some sort of Balefort Castle.
I personally respect the act of rushing, since PvP in PL was made to be like that originally.
Though I personally do not rush.
When I get rushed, I take it as a challenge. The rusher is challenging me, so now I'm free to attack back with all my might.

It's like the ancient Greek laws that binded gods from attacking heroes.
But heroes are free to challenge whoever they want, so when they challenge a god, the god is now free to attack back and respond to the challenge.

The only people who have a right to get mad/frustrated at rushers are those who never rush anyone themselves. The sooner we all learn this, the better. I don't know how many times I've seen someone I know rushes others get mad when he's rushed. (this was me not long ago, I'm ashamed to say.)

Rushing may be looked down upon by many, but hypocrisy is looked down upon by all.

Er... It is? It didn't sound like that to me at all... It actually sound like you just read a Percy Jackson book to me, and your just looking for a reference >_<.

When some people rush, it is fun... When others rush it is annoying, and just pointless...

Example of fun rusher:

Failure1: How do u combo
Failure2: Idk I just spam skills till u diez
(rusher enters)
Rusher: FFA

(rusher kills both players, fun FFA starts and more people join in)

Now here is an example of a pointless rusher, who I love to boot from my games.

Lv10: what's your build
Lv16: I'm not telling u
(rusher enters)
Rusher lv 17: DIE U NUBZ
(rusher kills lv 10 seven times before he is booted, and completly ignores the lv 16)

Since I don't have time to write another "skit", I'm just going to talk about another kind of rusher that irks me. This type of rusher waits till your in a 1v1 then rushes you either during your fight or right after it.

One last thing, Whirl, what is wrong with chatting in a pvp areana? :-/ I would rather fight too, but it's become "the norm" for players to sit and talk during pvp more then they actually fight.
