Spiders!! :)

I freaking love the new pets!
Meet my longest friend, Miet.

She's been with me for 20 odd years, no way to know how old she was when I got her. She's named for the lead in "city of lost children" Miet is soo mello that I used to take her to elementary schools to show and tell, pulling her out of her terrarium to hold, hoping to quell some fears some had. Once while moving from Fresno to Santa Cruz, her terrarium had fallen in the back of the U-haul, turned on its side, and the lid popped off. When I got there I opened the door to discover her calmly sitting beside the upturned cage, haden't moved a foot.

Some species of tarantella (from the Americas ) can live upwards of 40 yrs. The black one with orange bits was prolly modeled off this Mexican species, which is very long lived (females that is).

I prolly spelled it wrong (phonetically), I know the movie is French. A friend told me the name means like "crumb".
Me-ett, sounds like "see it" with an M, kinda.

That's the oldest living spider ever recorded and it lived 28 years. It's a bird eating tarantula.
