I have the same issue.. the problem happens usually when my Samsung s2 skyrocket is over heating from either playing to much or the over clocking is too high... its your phone basically... keep it up u will be paying for a another phone...
Also if ur phone is rooted with a experimental rom, I would suggest to flash another rom...

Maybe u fiddled with the battery saver option. That makes some graphic change...
