1+ it is not too late to add this, there is little to no downside to this, the value of the weapons weren’t much to begin with, it gives players a incentive to actually open the cakes, most won’t because they are valued at a decent price, majority will rather sell them over opening, the birthday vanities currently in the vendor aren’t worth opening the cakes for. This is a good idea, and will make up for some of the negative backlash this event has been getting.
