I think Minecraft SMP would technically be considered an RPG at this point. Team Fortress 2 is also free, and tons of fun (though not an RPG).

Minecraft is always a good alternative, find a good active server and the fun never ends.

SL PvP is more skill than luck, it is super fun, but here if you rush it's not like PL, you will get destroyed.

There is this wonderful new action-rpg-adventure called 'Horn' for iOS devices. It's single player, but it's unparalleled in therms of graphics and content.

Note that you need an iPhone 4s, iPad 2 or latest iPad to fully enjoy this game.

For ios I'd absolutely recommend Infinity Blade, the 2nd one is better than the 1st but they both have good storrylines.

There is even an I.B. book you can buy haha.

Requirements are the new iPod, iPod 3rd gen 32 gigs+.
iPad 2+ new iPhone.

Those games are pure amazing they take full advantage of the "retina display."
