Who saw this coming? I did, years ago, but hoped I'd be wrong. I'm hoping that it's just his body, not actually him, which would be possible with the rinnengan and all.

Very obvious. The guy kenpachi was defeated by seems to be the equivalent of the captain commander, so it's kenpachi shouldn't have been as lucky as usual. I was surprised too, but it made sense When Yamamoto had the dialogue with him, implying that he was an old rival.

I wonder how he did it, it would be cool if zetsu found his body and fixed him that's why they are partners. But that's just a thought
