Harg'Kyth : DB & FA Resistant

As we noticed 'Kyth is a Fire Element monster and my recent build goes to that side. So i decided to test out Fire Aura.
look at the buff beside my Blood pool.
i used FA and Unholy Blessing

with the skills i used it should do a decent DPS but 'kyth doesnt affected with my Fire.

DB - i also went to test DB, it also doesnt do any dmg but only roots 'kyth to his foot.

so i believe fa and db are useless to 'kyth. but i would like Cara or other devs to give us some words.





PS: as u noticed skills were just recently casted but i already tested those skills for many times.

Good theory. I have too noticed that DB doesn't do much damage when casted, if any at all. I don't have FA so I cannot test that.

Dev confirmation would suffice to sate our inquiries.

I could have swore i saw pretty significant damage from dark binding. Could be wrong though.

Another thing i noticed is if u dont have aggro u can stay inside his shield and not take damage. Seems to work best if ur by the shield rock circle.

I'm not sure if it's only me, but vermin swarm, dark binding and charged fatal burst doesn't seem to do any dmg to him for me.

I don't have fire aura but i believe it hurts him (unless he has his shield up), as he goes down really really fast if someone on my team has it.

As for the no dmg while inside shield and not having aggro, i believe u DO take dmg but it's DoT, with the health regen u get from breaking stones you kinda resist that dot dmg so end up taking no dmg.

now i'm not 100% sure about all of the above, just some personal observations

This is my theory and my opinion.

I think that FA and DB works, expecialy when bumped up with unholy lessing, but when the shield is hightened then harg'kyth become near as invulnerable to the attacks and you get hit by fire (plus).

Inside the shield sometimes i'm not hit and sometimes i get heavy damage (perhaps a glitch or there's a little area not covered... ?) or perhaps the damage you take is compensated by the bonus you get (health regen bumped up) by destroying the stones.

I can confirm what you are eluding to, Obsidian and Hargkyth do not take damage from Fire Aura. The feeling you have from damage output regarding Dark Binding has to do with his Healing Obsidian Stone. Since Dark Binding and Vermin swarm do damage over time, the effects of the healing are keeping it more or less level while the Obsidian is up.

I could go into more but it's way more entertaining to see the strategies you guys come up with to deal with his buffs!

In regards to his "damage spike" inside the fire bubble, there does appear to be a minor visual glitch in where he does not properly do the animation. If you get hit heavy and knocked around you were hit by an appropriate ability, but the animation did not fire correctly.

-Destroying the Odsidain "Healing" Stone would make VS and DB more effective.

at first i thought those shield,speed,health and dmg stones are power ups for us.lol

now i know , destroying obsidain stones would weaken 'kyth.
