So, after about and hour and a half of farming the new elte dungeon, Fire Forest, I wasjust mashing my buttons impatiently, as you do in anticipation to kill Dragonet. A wee bit pissed actually, as the previous run a purple had dropped from Dragonet and my misfortune brought it to stay purple. But back to the present, not expecting much but another green or purple. I am mistaken as soon as the pink text fills the screen. AWW YEAHH BABY!

Now the question is, what to do with it to receive the maximum amount of gold? Do I sell it now, when the price is high, due to the recent launch?
Or do I wait in silence and torture, for these items to become discontinued and therefore skyrocket in price?

And when they do become discontinued will they eventually reach the price that they are now, or higher/lower?

If I were you, I'd wait for it to become discontinued. Wait a few months after they get discontinued and sell for millions. Just my opinion. Do what you please

Kaytar does have a good point, but I shall explain why it is not valid.

First of all, these Black Dragon items will become discontinued.
But when they are, there will already be a lot of them dropped from so many players wanting to get the 500/500 quests done.
This is also the start of a new campaign, so we will have tons of time to farm.
Unlike Mount Fang's Dragon Vanity items, which were released near the end of the campaign and the only motive for farming them was...farming them, rather than completing a quest to get a perfect 192/192.
Black Dragon items are pinks, not vanities. They also do not form a set bonus, so the Level 71 Elite + Crafted Humania Sand Helm + Armor (+Shield) is superior to them.
They do not stack on top of others, giving an advantage of stat-giving vanities like Dragon Vanities from Mount Fang.

What happened to Mount Fang's Dragon Vanities:
First, they were priced near gold cap, since they were new and rare.
Then, they dropped to around 1-3mil per piece due to overfarming.
Humania came out in a very short duration of time, and people focused their farming on Humania, leaving less and less Dragon Vanities being dropped.
Normally, if this was gear from a past campaign, the newer gear would replace it. But these were vanities, and could be equipped along WITH the new Humania gear, and having no replacement from Humania, these actually became more valued.
From no one farming them, the Dragon pieces quickly went from 1-4mil to over a gold cap for almost each piece.

Black Dragon will not have a fate like this, unless it has a set bonus or becomes superior to the Humania Crafted Sand sets (like how 56 Glyph became superior).
And if this happens along with it's already announced "discontinued" effect, then this could be the next Dragon Vanity "event".

But since this has not happened yet, and more and more players are farming for the new 500/500 quest Elite weapon, thus having more Black Dragon pieces drop, I think you want to sell this and get rid of it ASAP.

Elites were priced at gold cap+ (around 10-20mil) when they were first released since it was a VERY low drop rate.
Then the patch came that made the elites much easier to loot.
From there, prices dropped from above cap, through below and down to 4-5mil in a single night.
Within the next 12 hours, prices then stabilized at roughly 1-2mil for Marlin and Twister and 2-3mil for Blaster.

When they were announced "discontinued" prices started to increase, which is where we are today.
However,
As I said in my quote to Kaytar's response....
-Elite prices WILL rise, since unlike Black Dragon, there is NOTHING ATM that is more powerful than a Mystery Mash Elite weapon, thus making it "top dog", whereas the Black Dragon is still a bit overshadowed by the Humania Crafted Sand sets.

They wont be discontinued...... This is a preview for the 70-76 dungeon coming out sometime this fall or winter. They will stay in the game and probably get 71, 73, and 75 versions. I would sell now when the prices are high.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. I just realised something though,

There have been many questions about this, so I'm posting a thread to get the word out. The current elite weapons (dark pinks) and the upcoming elite weapons can only be obtained until the next level cap raise. Be aware, there will be a lot of differences between these weapons and the previous elite weapons, but I promise the proc's will be a lot of fun.

Does that mean that the Black Dragon pinks will not become discontinued?

Or do they fall into the same category as "the upcoming elite weapons", although I highly doubt this.
