Elite quest is dumb.

It's 25 shadows and then 5 essences for the shield which those are like a double chance lol have to hope for a shadow prisoner and then it's like 50/50 from that

Like snowballs were 1000 but u got like 30+ a run
Cyber took 150 boss kills but you could get 4 a run
The shadow part of cyber was kinda just as discouraging but it was only 30 so it seemed doable

I'm one that has asked for long quest, and keeping legendary drops some what low and consistent from map to map. This quest is ridiculous IMO. Sometimes I go 10 runs, and nothing, then get 2 or 3 in the next few runs, then back to nothing. At least make the drop rate 50/50. That's at most 1000 runs to complete the quest. Or better yet, make the mystery map boss drop them too.

I think the quest would have being better if it was 1000 instead of 500 . With the same drop rate. For Elite BETWEEN elites....

Yeh so did I but I didn't ask for 2000 runs of monotony. And that's just for an exclusive elite 2h axe, it's really not that useful for a tank nor is it a whole set
Both of the other two elite sets of quests also allow you to get full dropped sets in the process, but this is just a helm and armor if I'm lucky enough to get them, a staff is decent for a mage in pve, and a bow is almost always a birds weapon of choice

For tanks especially this is just 2k runs to look cool,
I'll probably still do it but wait till 76 cap so I can get xp

Just an unsolicited advice, seeing that many of you are getting worked up on small things, If you're not happy with your game, play another one...why do you have to put up with a game you feel is wasting your time with chores or monotony as you say? I seriously don't get that. I've played 6 other mmorpgs during the time I was also playing PL. I never get this attitude of people trying to be martyrs with their gaimz if they can find better ones that won't frustrate them. So I get in another game what I don't get in another one...be true gamers, don't be too attached in one and expect it to be all that...it's a whole big world out there comrades :P Like right now, I'm looking at Guildwars 2, but I'm not quitting any of my games? If the game is starting to stop to be one then you just put it down a little bit and play new ones and come back when you miss it because at some point you will get tired playing a game no matter how good it is, when that time comes, you can come back to your previous games. Don't be too stressed out, they're games, not work. Remember back then when we were kids during famicom atari days (for those who aren't kids anymore), you buy a game (mommy most of the time), then if it sucks, you throw it away or swap with friends or go ask mommy and daddy to buy you a new one, I don't recall raging on my games over and over, 'cuz you never know what other games you're missing on...this goes on until your cabinet fills up with all the games filled with good memories...the situation is pretty much the same today. So, don't overanalyze and don't put all your eggs in one basket, just play, be a gamer not a game guru/analyst (unless it really is your job), have fun, really...:P That's the problem with people playing games today, they forget it's all about the fun and there's an array of choices out there...don't be too attached and you'll find yourself enjoying games more.

That being said, I find the new content just OK. It's a new content, appreciate it, love the design, the quest gets boring yes but at least we get something different. Different is good. You see the pulse and effort of the developers. When something is new, expect birth pains, and this is obviously one of them since it's the first quested elites. They will definitely calibrate it along the way.

But they also said the quest, elite items, and black dragon legendaries are exclusive to Fire Forest elite dungeon, also that they were treating the new dungeon like an event. So which is it?

Aren't you the same one who write multiple dissertations about the pre release of the elite weapons? You got worked up. I don't see anyone here getting worked up. There are a lot of people that have stated that they don't like the quest and 0 to maybe 1 that has said they do like it. The issue as I see it is that the item required for the quest has such a low drop rate that it makes the quest unbearable. The other major chain quest at least gave you something on every run. There might have been a run or 2 that was empty. On this quest, there are major lags between one drop and the next. That should be fixed.

I wasn't really getting worked up...it looked that way because my posts were long and people were sort of making me look like I was beating on a dead horse, etc. The issue itself on the Elite items I was willing to shutup already and just wait for Techno Email's response, in that regard, I was very constructive when it came to the elite item stuff I could have taken in any explanation and moved on. But the drama, flamez, bashing was being caused by the exchanges between me and the other forumers that has got nothing to do with what I was trying to point out. It was a show between me vs everyone. Nobody except a few were willing to trade constructive opinions about the elite items, they prefer flamefests. I'm just clarifying. For the record, I was actually enjoying the exchanges to a certain extent because some of their posts were really funny...in fact, people thought I was trolling them because aside from my original post, most of my posts were filled with sarcasms innuendos, etc. and that's just because I was being flamed. But I admit, I could have been more productive doing other things during that time, I literally wasted hours exchanging wits with people. In that regard, being a semi old player myself, I was already in that "bored" zone, which explains why I had so much time foruming then...so I decided to take that opportunity to play another game called Final Fantasy 13-2 (it was a decent game, but little disappointed in story). So after finishing FF13-2, I resumed playing PL with a whole new perspective, and by this time, people forgot about the elite item issue so I moved on and started fresh :P I waited 'till the issue died before coming in again...because I did make quite a fuss during that time and I had lots of haters then.

So the point is, I wasn't worked up at all, I was a cool cat if you looked back in my posts to the point that I got one old player threaten to hack me in PM and I showed everyone his private message (that was hilarious)... but I was bored of the game at the time already so I put it down a little bit and searched for excitement in the forum section to no avail, so then I decided to pick up a new game, and it worked. That was the point I was trying to make, you don't have to put up with it...you can create new interests and make things pass if you don't like what you're seeing, maybe this one is bad now...if you come back after experiencing another game while on a break maybe it's a lot better...don't put all the eggs in one basket so you don't get stressed should things don't go your way, that was the gist of what I was trying say. It was an advice btw, wasn't meant to be offensive or anything, if you think I was wrong, I'm cool with it :P

I say people are getting worked up because I could sense the emotional stress from them when they say this is chore...like it's big "sigh"... or when they say they'll skip it 'til next level cap...it's almost like I can hear someone say the "f*** this Sh**" expression, nobody passes on a content unless they're not happy with it, do you not use emotions when you're not happy with a game?...so it's being worked up in a frustrating sort of way not the raging way that we're all accustomed to...being angry isn't the only emotional criteria for being worked up, being suddenly frustrated or stressed qualifies as well. For sake of clarifying, I'll simply change my wording to people being "stressed", that's what I meant anyway if you take it in context.

Anyway, I really don't have any intention of arguing with anyone (no point, I just had sudden urge of typing words just now that's why I came up with this long post again)...I gave an advice, if you think I'm wrong, cool :P All in all, I think the content are just alright, and STS should not change/nerf it, but they can use the feedback to improve on future content.

Tbh ... I think the quest is fine (or would have been) if it came at the release of new content and gave an elite weapon for that special elite cap. I get on average 6-10 of these ichor drops a night. that being said, if I have 3months to do this quest then fine but I don't think its worth it considering new content (should) be out by then and level cap Will be 76. No use for this elite weapon then...lol

Its fine I just hate the randomness. Make it 1k,2k,10k how ever high you want just make it drop 100%. If they made it 10k at least you know there a end. When its random you dont know when it ends. Its why I only buy 1 random pack. Im only playing it because Im farming dragon gear. I just happen to get dragonets while I farm.

My advice make it as hard as you like just stop with the casino chance style.
