After all these years of playing PL since April of 2010, I personally still love the game.
There are many aspects of the game to enjoy if you choose to make it enjoyable.
Some like to pvp , others merch , I prefer to farm pve.
Many have grown up with the game started when they where teenagers and it has sentimental value as well as nostalgia.
The best and worst part of the game is the community itself.
There are many helpful genuine players on game who only wish to play it for fun and assist others in navigating and learning about the game itself.
Many experienced players writing guides to help others new players.
Many who just play to socialize with others. And chat openly and making jokes for fun.
Most importantly of all are the Platinum spenders, who actually support Spacetime Studios as a business and allow the free to play players continue to enjoy and play for free , they might be unaware that without those who do spend platinum they can not play this game at all. SpaceTime Studios is a business and in the real world businesses need to make money or they can not keep operating.
Of course there are many other types of players who love fighting and trash talking others daily in open chat making drama for attention, many dishonest players impersonate others, many seasoned scammers making new identites after a huge scam, many rival big guilds on game hating each other just to be the biggest one on game, many dishonest black market players buying and selling items for real life money, many players botting for gold and selling that on the black market. Many toxic players who just make up rumours and hate others because they are richer or have achieved more than them on game. Many pvpers who trash talk their enemies because they hate loosing and their egos are hurt, they have a need to fight and put others down because they are salty and want revenge when they loose.
Which ever way you choose to play the game.
I hope you try to make the most of the game and make it fun, make the new player experience enjoyable for them and not add to the toxic behaviour of others.
