I have tried to get one every day since the reaping stones event was finished, 2x tries per day on several items and still havent got a single one, while in just 1 try I got the super gem from the new twisted tyrant gem.

Yes it's still possible, I got a soul reaper just yesterday. 2% chance for it isn't very high, but you will get it eventually
